The Charmettes, Inc. to Host the World
Renown 50th Annual EBONY Fashion Show in
Tallahassee
TALLAHASSEE—The
Leon County Chapter of The Charmettes, Incorporated is hosting the 50th
Annual EBONY Fashion Show on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at The Moon on
1105 E. Lafayette Street at 8:00 p.m.
Themed “Glam Odyssey” the world’s
largest traveling fashion show will be celebrating its 50th
year highlighting the latest breakthrough designs and styles by world
famous designers. Thirteen models embodying a variety of shades and
shapes will don the latest styles by world famous designers including:
Christian Dior, Oscar de la Renta, Dolce & Gabbana, Carolina Herrera,
Bill Blass and Jean Louis Scherrrer.
This magnificent show will be traveling to nearly
180 cities in the U.S., Canada, Bermuda and Jamaica through May 2008.
Ticket price is $30.00 general admission, $21.00 for students
and
includes a one-year subscription to EBONY
Magazine or a six- month subscription to JET Magazine and chances to win
round-trip air travel for two from American Airlines or American Eagle,
a 2008 FORD Edge, and selected items from EBONY Fashion Fair cosmetics.
The show is characterized by its glamour,
elegance and flare, the EBONY Fashion Show is filled with music, lights
and action from beginning to end. It promises to be a production that
those with a passion for fashion will not want to miss! Portion of the
proceeds go to a student eligible for the First Generation Matching
Grant Program. This program was passed in the 2006 legislative session
as HB 795, and provides financial aid to undergraduate students with
financial needs and whose parents have not earned a baccalaureate
degree.
The Charmettes, Incorporated is a civic organization founded in 1951 in
West Palm Beach, Florida. We are a community conscious and action
organization which realizes the need for
deeper commitment to promote social
activities and foster civic projects for the betterment of our
respective communities. Our programs and activities provide assistance
to needy individuals, promote health care awareness and provide
scholarships to deserving young people.
